record with multiline column stays expanded when the column is hidden

Describe the current behavior

when you have a cell with multi-line content, the row resizes appropriately. however the row does not shrink back down when the multiline column is hidden.

Note: some users may be using this behaviour as a workaround to control line default row height since it's not possible to set directly.

Steps to reproduce

1. add a cell with several lines of text
2. hide the column with the multiline text

Describe the expected behavior

any affected rows should resize back down when the multiline cell is no longer visible
