alt-b and alt-f don't move cursor in Vim terminal

Hello, when launching the Ghostty shell, I can correctly use alt-b and alt-f to move the cursor backward and forward one word.

However if I launch Vim, then open a terminal there with :terminal, alt-b prints â and alt-f prints æ. Is this a configuration issue or a bug?

in the alternate buffer (what tui apps run in) you have to use shift so alt+shift+b because ghostty implements fixterms

I tried alt+shift+b, but that didn't work either. It printed Â instead.

I get this same issue with any other terminal emulator with Vim's¹ built-in terminal, so I suspect this is a Vim but and not a Ghostty but.
