Ghostty exited unexpectedly

This may be a KI, but I catted a PNG in a ghostty window to see what would happen and the application exited. There was no crash report that I could find.

you shouldn't cat binary files as they may contain bytes that ghostty will interpret as escape sequences

My assumption is that ghostty shouldn't exit in this case anyways so that may be an issue could you repeat this in a debug build of ghostty while running it from another terminal emulator and posting the output of the console

Yeah, I know about shifting out and stuff and even getting a few valid escape codes in and stuff like that, but this also caused all programs running in all tabs in all windows to get closed (on Mac at least).

I'd expect worse case would be to just make an unusable tab I'd need to close with best case making a tab I could recover.

If you can provide a reproduction file that produces this crash or a stack trace, then we can work from there. The presence of a crash itself is unfortunately not typically actionable.

I only tried it the one time because I've got a bunch of state in terminals, but it was this file.

In particular, I couldn't find a stack trace, so I don't know for sure what happened, just that the program disappeared suddenly.

To get a stack trace you'd have to build a debug version.

I tried a debug build and couldn't reproduce it, so I tried it on the production build again and it didn't happen. So I don't really have much of an idea what happened. That makes things hard to fix.
