controller not working

the controller doesn't work even though i can set the keybinds to the controller. works fine without the mod.
for some reason if i hold jump when i die it holds jump when i respawn but thats it.

Can confirm this issue still exists,
including the weird respawning behavior.

This would mean that at the very least this issue had to have started after v1.10.0.

The version I am currently on is v1.10.3.

I may create a duplicate issue report with more details.
