Here is a Mockup Presentation of the workflow

User requirements:

  • creating activity node
  • edit activity node (on Noctua Form)
  • adding causal relationship between two activity nodes
  • removing causal relationship between two activity nodes
  • edit causal relationship (on Noctua Form)
  • keep activity node positions so the display stays the same after reload
  • activity nodes label first thought as gene product names but we may want to aim for consistency, possibly using Activity + GP names (action item: try both)
  • (require more discussion on the Noctua Form side) abstract "Molecular Machine" as being either a "Gene Product" or "Complex", to enable the pattern "Activity" enabled_by "Molecular Machine"
  • keep the look and feel of noctua graph editor, as much as possible

Also: do we want a collaborative feature on this ? (multiple persons editing the same model at the same time - @tmushayahama I don't think Noctua Form allows that at the moment, correct ?)

Technical requirements:

SBGN has an activity flow diagram format. SBGNViz is probably the best developed tool out there to create such type of diagram.
