  • locating a user in the 3d space
    • noise from a window that stays while users move in a room
  • narrative:
    • subsidiary to action - spooky background noise
    • active in advancing narrative: happens on events, or is in line with unrolling action
  • informative:
    • explicit information like a narrator, or instructions
    • implicit information like bubbles if you're under water
