dwains-lovelace-dashboard - Has the development come to an end? What's next? Are we beating a dead horse? #853

I'm getting that impression. Can anyone suggest alternatives? |
The way to go seems to try and create your own dashboard with bubble cards, probably icm with auto entities card. Those make lots of stuff easier to do, but still you'll have to manually work with templates to create the kind of functions dwains dashboard has out of the box. It took some time, but my dashboard is quicker and leaner than before. Took lots of inspiration from dwains approach though! |
@iroQuai : Many thanks. Would you like to share screenshots and code? :-) |
Check out /r/bubblecard on Reddit or the many dashboard showcases on /r/homeassistant (also reddit) |
@dwainscheeren :
First, let me say that I greatly admire your dashboard approach. I believe what you've created could or even should be part of Home Assistant Core due to its exceptional usability and modularity. Since I started with Home Assistant, I’ve struggled to build a dashboard that can efficiently manage my hundreds of devices and meet the diverse requirements of my household.
Discovering Dwains Lovelace Dashboard seemed to be a breakthrough for me. It simplified many aspects of creating a central touchpoint for my smart home and could be a long term basis..
However, I’ve noticed that there hasn’t been much activity in the repo since 02.05.2024, and many issues and questions remain unanswered.

Also, there is no shift towards sections noticeable.
Like others, I’d like to kindly ask:
Has the development of Dwains Lovelace Dashboard reached its conclusion?
Are there any plans for future updates or support?
I want to understand if this is a project / framework we can still rely on or if we are beating a dead horse and should consider alternative solutions. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
