GitSponsors are spammers - avoid them like the plague. They scraped email addresses and sent a mountain of opt-out spam about their scam. Some victims posted screenshots here: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/mrpunyapal_its-a-scam-be-aware-its-not-from-github-activity-7286252237243244544-XnLh , https://old.reddit.com/r/github/comments/1i4vchd/just_got_the_suspicious_email

If you're not into helping spammers or scammers, this probably isn't a good thing to promote.
