In using Mapeo offline, it is desireable to be able to link it to an offline cash of map tiles. These can either be vector maps, zxy map tiles folders #124, MBTiles files #103, or other integrated means.
This came up in researching mapping environments for a collection of socio-ecological initiatives via the preliminary work of @TransforMap / @transformaps.
These tiles would automagically be available through cashing of already used tiles, explicit downloading of certain regions and zoom levels, via provisioning of existing tile sets or eventually through an external application running on localhost or in the local network.
Such an application might as well be the 🔗 OSM Scout Server, which brings raster and vector tiles, a gazetteer and routing based on OSM data to air-gapped machines.
This was found via the 🔗 Pure Maps entry in Flathub. Ideally Mapeo will live next to them, too. 🤣
