Week 13 | Final Exhibition

It is the end. The team were very tired and very rushed as a Nemo had to finish off the video as the AR still hadn’t been totally finalised. We also arrived there maybe 10 minutes late because we thought that’s when packing could start not should start, hence a lack of photos by photographers etc. Regardless, it was a lot of fun attacking people with stickers and shockingly and without some confusion not only from the team but other teams, we won a pack of All Naturals lollies for third People’s Choice. There were a lot of creative ideas and well designed prototypes so to us the main thing that saved our application was the working augmented reality and the stickers.

Printed stickers! Printed stickers!

The final prototype was to be presented in week 13, with the overall design complete and the functionality showing the most important aspects of the application, which will be the communication portal and a map that uses AR, much like Pokemon Go. As it is a proof-of-concept deliverable, the outcome should refer back to project aims as described in the design opportunity.

The chat function was functional to say the least, with the AR working perfectly.

We had no real images of our setup either, but the team are pretty happy here to have finished most of the work for the semester. One goal we did achieve was having everyone work with the pose that Dan and Hamish had been competing with the past week.

Our team goal of having Lorna do the pose was achieved.

Feedback we received was that we should have allowed for more proof of user testing, as the hidden tip wasn’t relevant and should have been tested against the analysis of the target audience. Despite that feedback, the hidden tip did run on the suggestion that tips should be fun facts or things that are related to the location, which we completed by making it relevant to Advanced Engineering Building where it was held. The idea that the tip was something that could be considered local or insider knowledge was also the aim for that example but admittedly it didn’t make sense in the context of the application.

Thank you for a great semester!
