Do you think communicating to those who are considered the original or dominant culture of a country would allow you to understand the country better? Some examples would be terminology, etiquette, etc.

For example, it may be easier to understand culture in Japan, as the majority of the population are Japanese, whereas Australia considers the originally European English speaking population as the dominant culture.
