Actually it was not a crack, but a leak of the unprotected Aimware dev.build.dll by the old developer Polak, as he was either fired by Aimware or himself became self-employed, which appears to be due to discrepancies in the payments he earned. So he decided to leak the DLL as long as he had access to the files/servers or whatever.
(I don't know the details, there are many stories. Only Polak and the Aimware owners know the truth.)
