Grading
Grades are assigned according to the following:
-
Team performance (50%)
- Quality of team artifacts (20%)
- Sprint and Final Presentations (30%)
-
Individual performance (50%)
- Attendance and quality of individual artifacts (20%)
- Peer feedback (15%)
- Professionalism and Studio Code (15%)
Artifacts are assigned as homework each class. The first mention of each artifact is listed in bold on the syllabus. All artifacts are due Sunday at midnight before the following class and must be entered in the Artifacts sheet (a link to which you will receive via email). In some cases, the studio team will leave comments in the sheet about action items required to bring artifacts to an acceptable level, any of which must be addressed by the subsequent class.
The final presentation is delivered during the penultimate class. You must be present for the final presentation to receive a passing grade in the class. You must be present for the final presentation at the company to receive a passing grade in the class.
Adherence to the Studio Code is required for all studio courses. If you are not adhering to the studio code it will show up in two ways: Your team will not perform well and will suffer in Team performance part of the course, Individually, all 3 components will suffer. Additionally if you are disturbing class or your team, you will be asked to leave and it will count as an absence, which is a half letter grade deduction. Additionally your professionalism grade will suffer greatly. You can fail this course by not adhering to studio code.
Note that teams will be graded on the quality of their work in the course itself—not what the company chooses to do with their work.
