Validations

  • I believe this is a way to improve. I'll try to join the Continue Discord for questions
  • I'm not able to find an open issue that requests the same enhancement

Problem

Currently there is no way to go to the edit tab without a keyboard shortcut and that too is minimal.

Solution

We can have separate tabs for chat and edit similar to GitHub Copilot and Cursor

Do you think that a clickable tooltip would solve this as well? (e.g. something that hovers in the editor when you're highlighting code)?

I'd like some way to toggle between chat mode and edit mode from the sidebar in chat.
You can have 2 separate windows similar to Copilot or Cursor or a toggle within one window similar to Windsurf. I personally prefer the Cursor/Copilot approach.

What you suggested is still not visible enough.
