Looking to help

I am have substantial development experience with extensions and stumbled across this project when looking to help my children better control their YouTube experience. I was going to teach my oldest by making a new one but found this gem which solved most of their issues. I would love to help out if there are areas you would like to improve the project in.

One aspect I found interesting to start out is the number of requests for Firefox to have a problem addon instead of temporary one.

Anyway, let me know if there is anything you want some eyes on.

more specifically: Blocking by Metrics, Category, Keywords, Regex or Channel
(*good besides that a global filtering comes before youtube filtering)

i think @victor-savinov prepared Firefox these days so we can upload it soon.
Did you once start with Firefox? (and enjoyed xpcom?)
Will any crossbrowser libs / polyfill still matter for history manager or any of our Extensions?

I did not like the old FF addons but that was back in the days of XUL yeah which was its own mess. They were a pain to develop and maintain. Once Chrome came out with their extension model adding new ones for simple use cases was simple. I would setup a simple shell for devs to put logic and away they go making their daily lives better.

I can take a look at what you have in the history manager if that would help out more then focusing on the FF addon running

hey @my8bird! i regret the delay. Both would be great, depending your mode maybe.

• History manager is about data. not published yet, contributing might start with discussion (should we start discord, irc? ("applied later")

• Most of ImprovedTube is (html5) video & www.youtube.com css features yet. Many tiny tasks waiting already, that will be used immediately ("applied today") However working with data can be most meaningful here too ("applied soon").
