Handling Family member documents

Hi there, I am still playing with that great tool, but it looks pretty good :-)

How are you handling your documents within paperless-ngx together with paperless-ai and your workflow?

Initially I had the following workflow:

1. 4 Presets on Epson ES-580w (1 per family member - filename will contain the first name).
2. 5 users within paperless-nix (family + 1 super user (this SU had the API-Token))
3. After upload to smb, workflow started to assign the owner to the document based on first name on the document filename. AI tag will also be assigned.
4. paperless-ai run fine.

But with the current version I am struggling a little bit how to setup.
Ideas I have:

1. Use 4 paperless-ai instances (1 per family member).
2. Use Superuser and work with tags.

That's a really good question I also ask myself. The thing is the api key even as super user can only edit files that belongs to it or have no user assigned.

Maybe I don't saw the correct settings in the Django backend of paperless but as far as I know there is no way to process not owned documents.

In my point of view this is really a lacking part of paperless itself.

But maybe some paperless experts will enlighten us and show us a way out here.

Can we get the functionality to setup multiple users/api keys in Settings?

I think its not related to paperless itself.
I have reverted back to paperless-ai 1.2.1 together with paperless-ngx and my 15 documents.

4 documents have an different own owner. 11 documents have the SU as owner.

Scanning (more or less) successful for all documents.

Starting point:

Result:

2 of them were not updated due to whatever reason (not checked, assume bug). But 2 with a different owner than the API-Token user were successfully updated.
