 What is Climate and what is weather?
 Climate is the average weather over a long time in a place, The place could be a state or a country. For example, Lagos has a hot and humid climate while Jos has a cold climate. So climate can only be known after a certain period of time.
 Weather is what the sky is like today. Like if it is rainy, sunny or windy. For example the weather for today is sunny because you can see the sun in the sky.

 What is climate change?
Climate change means that the temperatures and weather are changing over many years. Imagine when it is supposed to be raining moderately but it is still sunny or raining heavily, this is caused by climate change. Climate change is like the earth is getting a fever which is not good thing for us living inside earth.

 This brings the question: Why is this change happening or what cause them to happen?
The climate change is happening because people are doing activities that is making the earth unsafe. Example of this activities includes:
 Burning of charcoals and polluting the environment
 Too many bad air (Carbon dioxide) in the air as a result of smokes from vehicles, bikes, trains etc
 Cutting down of trees that could have inhaled the bad air (deforestation)

 What is global warming?
Global in simple term means the earth is getting hotter. It is caused by the bad gases like greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide in the air.

Examples of these changes includes:
 Excessive weather like floods, increased sun intensity, severe drought etc in different state in Nigeria and different parts of the world.
 Extinction of animal species and habitats, due to the fact that they are not able to adapt to changing climate.
 Food insecurity: as a result of the changes in the temperature and rainfall, it will affect the growth and yield crops and food production.

 How then do we stop climate change from happening?
One way to do that is to plant trees. Planting of trees help the environment stay clean. How?
 The trees breathe like we human, it breathes in the bad air and breathes out the good air (Oxygen). This way our environment and air will be safer
 Planting of trees also create home for animals. Animlas like Birds, Bats, Insects (Ant, caterpillars etc), squirrels, monkeys etc
 Trees also hold the soil in place and help it to stay healthy.

 Simple ways we can help as individual:
 Planting a tree: Plant a tree today
 Reduce, Reuse and Recycle: Reduce and use less of things like plastics and paper, and instead of throwing plastics away after use, use it again for other things. And if it is not reuseable put them in a recycling bin where the plastics are turned into other useful products.
 Saving energy: you can do this by switching off the light when leaving home or when not in use.
 Conserve water: Fix leaks in pipe, use the rainwater to plants tree
