i. How to do it
:

(jump: Section Node);
i.2. from the Menu, under Macros
, choose Transpose...
;
i.3. in the floating window that opens, set the transposition parameters as follows:
-
Direction
: select eitherup
ordown
to raise or lower the selection respectively; -
Interval
: choose a simple interval(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interval_(music)#Simple_and_compound) from the dropdown; -
Additional octaves
: use if you need to transpose by more than one octave, e.g., to transpose by aperfect fifth above one octave, or;compound perfect fifth
-
Keep existing
: turn on if you need to maintain the original notes together with their transposition; useful for creating doubling (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voicing_(music)#Doubling) or parallel harmony (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallel_harmony).
i.4. click Apply changes
(the check mark button) to execute.
ii. Hints
:
-
only chromatic transposition is available;
-
when transposing, mind the current instrument's own transposition and concert pitch range (select its
Part
name in theScore, and find this information in theEditor); -
use
Edit
/Undo
to discard a bad transposition; -
your chosen transposition parameters are saved for the current session, to help you transpose again by the same interval later on;
-
you don't need to select
Transpose...
from the menu for subsequent transpositions. Uncheckauto close
in theTranspose...floating window, and keep tweaking the parameters and/or clicking theApply changes
button until the selection looks good to you in theScore. You do need to close the floating window to use playback, though; -
