I think it is not intuitive system auto-add phrases to database when user type phrase in the ‘Search’ field. Because, we are now deal with some small test, the number of phrases in our database is small, but in the real world, the number of phrases in database could be millions. If you delete some phrases in your database and want to confirm whether you have delete it completely, you will do ‘Search’. But when you try to search some phrases you had delete before, system will add it back to database again. I think it is reasonable to confirm data in database which is correct.
