Dear Chen,
I have an interesting question)
Are there any ways to combine pathways results with the asv table maybe, from qiime2 results?
It would be interesting to create a heatmap that can show not only pathways but plus corrilated bacterial genera or species found in the same samples.

Thank you,
Best,
Alla

Dear Alla,

Thank you for your interesting question about combining pathway analysis results with taxonomic data for visualization. I apologize for the delayed response as I am currently preparing for finals.

I will be able to provide a detailed answer to your question after December 10th. The visualization you described - combining predicted pathways with bacterial taxa in a heatmap - is definitely possible and would indeed be valuable for understanding the functional-taxonomic relationships in your data.

Please expect a thorough response from me next week with specific guidance on how to achieve this visualization.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,
Chen

Hi Chen,

I hope your finals went well!
I also find the idea of combining pathway results with taxonomic data really interesting. The idea of creating a heatmap that shows both pathways and correlated bacterial genera or species sounds awesome. I'm looking forward to hearing more about how to do this and can't wait for your reply!

Best,
Dana

Dear Alla and Dana,

Thank you for your interest in ggpicrust2 and your kind wishes regarding my finals! I really appreciate your enthusiasm about combining pathway results with taxonomic data visualization.

Currently, I'm quite occupied with other commitments, which makes it challenging to actively develop new features for the package. However, I'd like to encourage community contributions to ggpicrust2! If you're interested in implementing this feature, I warmly welcome you to:

  1. Fork the repository
  2. Develop the functionality you envision
  3. Submit a pull request

This would be a valuable contribution to the package and would benefit the entire user community. If you decide to work on this, please ensure to:

  • Follow the package's coding style
  • Include appropriate documentation
  • Add test cases for new functions

Feel free to open a discussion if you need any guidance on the implementation details or the pull request process.

Best regards,
Chen
