Sync "only manually" not respected in 4.4.5 #1262
-
I have my calendar and tasks (jtx Board) set to sync "only manually" because my local server is not always running. However, in the latest version (4.4.5) I notice that the synchronization still happens automatically. When I go to "Show debug info" in the settings, I notice sync workers set to run every 15 minutes. I tried changing the sync intervals in the settings to something like "Every 2 hours," and then I notice those sync workers are set to run every 240 minutes (as expected). When I change the sync intervals in settings back to "Only manually," those sync workers are again set to to run every 15 minutes. Compare this to the behavior in version 4.4.4: When I set the sync intervals in settings to "Only manually," I notice that the sync workers are cancelled. |

I can confirm this for 4.4.5. Sync job management (including sync intervals for workers) was refactored in 4.4.6. This problem seems already to be fixed: if the sync interval is set to "manually", the respective workers are cancelled (regardless of their periodicity, which is still shown in the debug info). Do you have Google Play / can you enter the beta channel there and test whether 4.4.6-rc.1 fixes this? Otherwise I could send an APK for testing. |
