Business Context

A Forest Client is any company or individual who is dealing, has dealt or plans to deal with the Ministry. This is effectively the name and address list for the Ministry.

Version 1.0 of the forest client API allows consumers to find out very high-level information about the forest client records maintained by the Ministry. A consumer can do a query to find out basic information about a specific forest client, or can retrieve the list of forest clients.

Version 1.0 of the forest client API serves forest client records but excludes any records tied to an individual. The reason for this is that the initial consumer is the FOM system which does not need any individual records. Excluding individuals at this time simplifies the security concerns for both this API and the FOM application, as individual first, last, and middle names cannot possibly be exposed.

Version 1.0 of the forest API is read-only and queries the Oracle operational database for the FOREST_CLIENT entity.
