Out of the box, it is difficult to return separate resources per site in a Sitecore Multi Site environment. This features enables Sites to configure a specific icon from the media library to serve when the favico.ico is requested for a given site. Ensure your site configuration inherits the favicon settings template, and configure it in the multi site settings section.
