Since I used Google's data and routing engine, I don't have full control of the machinery, which behaves like a black-box. My reasoning behind it are: 1. simplicity (it just works) 2. people use it and follow its indications, so it may even be less worse than expected 3. the proposed trajectories pass through way-points with the same density to the [real-data](https://github.com/astyonax/heartbeat-traffic) 4. with custom routing engine (e.g. OSRM) we may as well be quite wrong 5. for bikes, alternative routing software exists, but it is not well tested in Paris. So, let it be Google.
