With a Little Help from my Friends

Hi there!

I’d like to ask any of you for a favor, to help me push out the Summer 2022 release.

But first, let’s refresh what the repo was about…?

The web app templates I found in 2019 were either too narrow, showing a certain technology, or too specific, essentially being tied to a single application, often a todo list.

The promise of web (in the mid to late 1990’s) was that anyone can make a web app, with just an editor. That worked, until it became complicated. What GroundLevel tries to reach is bring back that original simplicity, while also catering for a full lifecycle view, including deployment, monitoring, CI/CD, the things we require from modern web apps.

The aim for the Summer 2022 release is to provide a stable code base that people can actually use. Growing the user base is not a primary goal for me, but having the repo useful for the occasional person who finds it, is. Stickiness. Usefulness.

I think the repo is pretty close to this, but it’s mainly been just me tinkering with it, so who knows. I’d like to hear Your opinion.

• Is there anything that can be left out?
• Is the documentation correct, and easy to follow?
• How does it fit your working methods?

I’ve put a great deal of work to the onboarding, and I’d like you to test it!
