If a user quotes the parent post, don't automatically quote the post #6

Currently if you reply to a post and use blockquotes to quote part of their post (by hand), it displays two quotes in a row.

Ideally it should no longer automatically quote the parent, but instead use the quote that the user created

Things to consider:

  • The automatic quoting has a link to the user, the post, and a "Jump to Original" button that would need to be preserved. These elements would need to be moved or potentially appended to the user generated blockquote.
  • The detection will have to ensure it's part of the parent post and not just using blockquotes for formatting purposes. Perhaps it triggers only when the first character of the reply is > (to indicate a blockquote).
