made progress in commit 52538bb
added code/make_figs.R to hold the functions
functions are called in readme
need to finish adding functions for plots from "endoComp_explainDecay.Rmd" and "endoDiv_explainDecay.Rmd"

added functions for plots from "endoComp_explainDecay.Rmd" and "endoDiv_explainDecay.Rmd"
each .Rmd file has its own makeFig list of functions

** I need to fix broken functions where I added "use.cache = T/F" as an argument to reduce computation time **
