SENSEFACTORY

Installation notes

Minibee (Pydon)

Requirements: Python 2.7

Core Python script

Requirements: Python 3 (brew install python3)

Dependencies: pip3 install python-osc numpy matplotlib sklearn

Usage

To start the installation you need to run the following two scripts:

  1. The pydongui.py script to listen to the minibee sensor network
  2. The core python script that runs all of the artificial intelligence / artificial life controls through OSC

Pydongui

To start: pydongui.py

In the PydonGui interface use configuration file: SenseFactory_minibee/sensefactory.xml

Core Python script

Starting the script

To run the script:

python3 sensefactory_sensors.py

OR you can use the following script which will run the python script with default options:

./launch_sensefactory.sh

Note: you will need to give yourself exec permissions on the file by running chmod u+x launch_sensefactory.sh

Stopping the script

To stop the script: press CTRL-C.

Options used for the show in Munich (2019-09):

python3 sensefactory_sensors.py --send-port 57122 --sensor-energy-increment 0.01 --miniburst-probability 0.5 --verbose

Note: If you use a remote computer you also need to add the --ip option.
