Hey Mike. I can't merge this because it pulls terriajs from a git hash. The commit you're pointing to has been released under 8.0.0-alpha.60 (which TerriaMap@next already uses). Can you update this PR or create a new PR with just the updateApplicationOnMessageFromParentWindow change and CHANGES.md entry?

This feature was disabled previously due to lack of support in v8 terriajs.
