How to include a REST API call and wait for response before returning OpenWhisk action result?

Joe, not so urgent perhaps, cause I can work around it, by putting the Google Sheets API in the Nodejs instead of an openwhisk call. The problem I have is that the wsk call returns with {} before the rest call returns. Not sure how to control this.
