Elements
The elements in Stardust Sandbox form a network of items that can be used on the game’s canvas. Each element has unique components and properties and can interact dynamically with other elements. These aspects form the foundation of the game and justify its title as a "falling-sand game," as this mechanic is the central characteristic of this type of project.
This page provides a comprehensive overview of the elements currently available in the game. The list is continuously updated as new content is added.
Powders are elements that typically experience the effects of gravity, constantly moving downward to occupy available space. They have states indicating whether they are in free fall, can push other elements, or transfer forces.
Dry soil, the foundation for vegetation. Turns into mud when exposed to water.
A dense mixture of dirt and water. Dries and turns back into dirt when heated.
A dense and durable rock. Melts into lava under extreme heat and crumbles into sand after prolonged exposure to water.
Vegetation that grows on soil. It burns quickly when exposed to fire.
Frozen water in solid form. Slippery and melts back into water when exposed to heat.
Fine, loose grains that flow and accumulate easily. Under extreme heat, it fuses into glass.
Accumulated ice crystals in light flakes. Melts into water when exposed to heat.
An unstable substance that spreads and infects corruptible materials, causing irreversible destruction.
A white, crystalline powder formed by small, shiny grains. Dissolves when it comes into contact with water.
Liquids are viscous elements that move more freely compared to Powders. They are affected by gravity and seek open spaces below them, moving horizontally when downward paths are blocked.
An essential and fluid liquid with dynamic behavior. It can freeze, evaporate, and extinguish fires.
Molten rock that incinerates almost everything on contact. Cools into solid stone under lower temperatures.
A highly corrosive liquid that dissolves materials rapidly on contact.
A highly contaminating liquid substance that flows freely and corrupts everything it touches.
A dark and thick, highly flammable liquid. It has a relatively low density.
A slightly blue and translucent liquid with particles of Salt floating in its composition.
Gases are elements that have the ability to float and move more fluidly across the game’s canvas. They have extremely low density compared to other types of elements, causing them to rise.
A gaseous form of corruption that spreads through the air, contaminating everything within its reach and making the environment inhospitable.
Hot water vapor that rises quickly and disperses into the air.
A byproduct of combustion that rises slowly, obscuring the air and signaling fire or burning.
Solids are elements that remain fixed where they are placed. While their range of actions is limited due to this characteristic, many other factors (like temperature) affect them and their neighboring elements.
A transparent yet fragile material, shattering on impact or disintegrating under high temperatures.
A strong metallic element. It resists fire but melts into lava under extreme heat.
A natural, flammable material often used in constructions. Burns easily when in contact with fire.
A crystallized, dense form of corruption. Immobile and permanent, it creates irreversibly contaminated zones.
A strong and durable block, ideal for fortified constructions due to its fire resistance.
Natural, flammable foliage commonly found in forest areas. It adds decoration and enhances natural scenery.
A functional and decorative block available in vibrant colors. Flammable, it adds dynamism and aesthetics to mobile constructions.
A light source capable of illuminating surroundings and highlighting details. Durable and fixed, perfect for areas requiring constant clarity.
An impenetrable, solid barrier. Resistant to natural forces and unaffected by other elements.
A dry sponge that can absorb liquids in a 3x3 area. It is highly flammable.
A wet sponge. Its density is slightly greater than a dry sponge, making it difficult to ignite in this state. If dry sponges are placed below, it will always reposition itself to the lowest point. It can be dried by heating.
A bright yellow, soft, and malleable metal.
Energy elements are highly varied, encompassing natural forces or unique materials with distinct properties.
A manifestation of heat and energy, rapidly consuming flammable materials and spreading destruction with intense speed.
Explosives are destructive elements designed to cause powerful reactions. They release energy in the form of heat, shockwaves, and debris upon activation, often impacting their surroundings with a high level of destruction. Explosives vary in intensity and activation conditions, such as contact with fire or extreme heat, and are ideal for clearing large areas or triggering chain reactions.
A not-so-powerful bomb that explodes upon colliding with neighboring elements.
An explosive that causes a massive explosion with a large destruction radius, affecting extensive areas and creating significant debris and secondary effects. It only explodes when exposed to high temperatures or comes into contact with hot elements like lava or fire.
Performs a moderate explosion with great destructive power, primarily affecting solids and leaving remnants of smoke and fire. It only explodes when exposed to high temperatures or comes into contact with hot elements like lava or fire.
Special elements designed to perform automated functions, providing convenience and automation for various scenarios within the game. An element that absorbs and destroys everything it touches.
An element that, upon contact with a neighboring element, will generate it infinitely until the cloner is destroyed or removed.
