Projects

This repository contains all projects conducted as a part of Udacity's Product Management Nanodegree program funded by Misk. The program offers four real case studies belonging to different organizations: Kaiser Permanente, Doordash, Amazon, and LinkedIn. Regardless, this repository depicts the Kaiser Permanente case study, a healthcare provider within the United States (US).

Case Study Description: Kaiser Permanente is looking to enter into the preventative care space to help their patient base increase physical activity and improve on healthy habits. While the overall goal is improved patient satisfaction and well being, the specific financial goal is reduced cost by emphasizing improved health prior to any adverse conditions developing. Overall, KP wants to decrease spending on conditions such as type 2 diabetes. Your team is tasked with researching the potential costs, features and benefits of a mobile application that communicates with KP patients and helps them improve on healthy habits.

Project 1: Pitch a Product Vision

  • Build Business Case
    • Identify problems to solve by creating a compelling story using evidence and metrics.
    • Identify the opportunity by calculating the Total Addressable Market (TAM) for the product.
    • Design a proposal by defining product use cases and target user(s)
    • Calculate the Return on Investment (ROI)
    • Define success metrics
  • Conduct Competitive Analysis
    • Compare the features of competitor products/solutions.
    • Define product positioning and opportunity in the market
  • Create Roadmap and Vision
    • Define and craft a compelling vision and strategy
    • Build a roadmap around the identified strategic areas

Project 2: Run a Design Sprint

  • Set the Stage
    • Write a Draft Product Requirement Document (PRD) containing background information about the industry, Problem to solve, goals, and relevant success metrics.
  • Understand Phase
    • Create “How Might We” stickies
    • Sort stickies into clusters and themes
    • Select a strategic theme
  • Define Phase
    • Write a future press release review
    • Define success metrics (optional)
  • Sketch Phase
    • Create quick sketches to explore and brainstorm ideas
    • Sketch solutions to depict a complete idea across the user journey
  • Decide Phase
    • Narrow possible ideas down to a final, single idea to move into the next step
  • Prototype Phase
    • Create a storyboard
    • Design a prototype using Figma
  • Validate Phase
    • Write a research plan containing participant selection, background questions, tasks, and wrap-up.
    • Conduct user interviews
    • List topics for feasibility discussion with the engineering team (optional)
  • Iterate Phase (Optional)
    • Update prototype based on feedback from user interviews
    • Conduct user interviews
  • Handoff
    • Add feature requirements with their priorities to PRD.
