What is Salesforce Indicators?

Salesforce Indicators allows you to highlight important data with icons and colors, making it easy to focus on what matters most. Make key details pop with lightning-quick insights at a glance on your Salesforce records without cluttering the page or interfering with data entry. Let your creativity be expressed as you customize the Indicators to be tailored precisely to your unique needs and requirements.

Salesforce Indicators is a Custom Metadata driven Lightning Web Component (LWC) which is placed onto a Lightning Record Page to display key details about specific data on the record, using icons and colors:

• Visualize your data - Display different icons and colors based on the value of a field, allowing users to quickly understand important information on the record, summarize related records, or highlight exceptions.
• Make your data come alive - Add a mix of Salesforce and custom colors to match your branding and create visually appealing indicators giving your users a more engaging experience. You can source icons from Salesforce SLDS, free or commercial sources, or even use Emojis.
• Customize your Indicators - The no-code setup involves creating Custom Metadata Type records. No complex formulas or coding required. Group Indicators into bundles for different use-cases and users. Deploy from Sandbox to production.

Who will benefit from using Salesforce Indicators?

• Salesforce Indicators works for any Salesforce org already using Lightning Experience, and it works exceptionally well for Nonprofit orgs on NPSP or Nonprofit Cloud.
• Salesforce Administrators can easily configure Salesforce Indicators to meet the needs of their organization.
• Salesforce Users can see key details at a glance as they move through their records. The indicators appear, disappear, and change color as the field values change.

Is Salesforce Indicators secure?

Yes! One of the benefits of being part of the Salesforce.org Commons program is access to the Salesforce Security Review and AppExchange publishing tools normally only accessible to registered Independent Solution Vender (ISV) partners. Salesforce Indicators was submitted to, and passed the security review in August 2023.

Can I use Salesforce Indicators today?

Yes! Any organization using Salesforce can install Salesforce Indicators today. Salesforce Indicators is currently in “soft launch”, and will be publicly announced by Salesforce.org and the Commons program on 25th October, 2023.
