Overview & information about services and service plans for Integration Suite is missing #67
Comments
The service plans are explained in detail in SAP Note 2903776) which is linked in the guide in other topics. I've linked this note in this specific document, and it will reflect after our next release. Regards, |
Hi @sebastianesch,
Hope this helps! Karuna |
Hi @Karunaharan, what are the reasons why this information is not shown in the documentation? Many other BTP Services explain what services plans exist and what they do. In the BTP Enterprise Agreement we have the plan "enterprise_agreement" or something similar. This is not reflected in the mentioned Note. I guess this is the Standard Edition. Also the "messages" service plan is not mentioned in the note. The note also does not explain that you need the "standard" or "enterprise_agreement" and "edge_integration_cell" entitlements in the Subaccount to successfully deploy Edge Integration Cell, even when the Standard Edition provides one Edge Integration Cell node. The note also does not explain the service plans of the "it-rt" service. From an enterprise user point of view, I would expect this information in the Planning / Initial Setup part of the documentation, as in a larger enterprise, the administrator of the Integration Suite subaccount might not be the same person managing the entitlements on Global Account level and needs to now upfront exactly which services and service plans are required to implement a specific scenario. Putting the information into a SAP Note makes this easy to overlook. Kind regards, |
The "enterprise_agreement" on BTP gives you, if am not wrong, 10000 cloud credits. You are not bound to one BTP service. You can use any BTP services including Integration Suite with these cloud credits. The "standard" service plan is one of the plans of Integration Suite that you can buy/use with these cloud credits. Like I said earlier, the "standard" service plan can be purchased via subscription or an enterprise agreement. Eventually, you get the same feature set. You don't require additional "edge_integration_cell" entitlement to deploy your first node. You will need it only when you want to connect more than one private landscape of yours. When you buy a "standard" service plan, you get both the entitlements - "standard" and "edge integration cell". About the "messages" and "it-rt" plans - I agree. This is missing. I'll add them to the SAP Note. About having this whole commercialization information in documentation - we will look into this. For now, as a stop-gap arrangement, please use the SAP Note and the info available in the SAP Discovery Centre. We will investigate what best can be done. Regards, |
Hi @Karunaharan, I'm not talking about the Commercial Model of the Global Account. I'm talking about the service plan called "enterprise_agreement" of the service "Integration Suite"/"integrationsuite" in the BTP Cockpit. I have seen it in at least one customer environment. And regarding the "edge_integration_cell" service plan: without it entitled to the subaccount, we were not able to successfully deploy the first Edge Integration Cell node. We opened a Support Ticket for the failed deployment and the resolution was to add the "edge_integration_cell" entitlement. Kind regards, |
Hi @sebastianesch, Regards, |
Hi @sebastianesch, Regarding: include the information about adding the "edge_integration_cell" entitlement - we will fix this too soon. Regards, |

Issue description
The Integration Suite documentation does not describe the available services and service plans with details that are delivered with Integration Suite.
Integration Suite does not only consist of the service
integrationsuite
but alsoit-rt
. And forintegrationsuite
apparently the service plan for the "Standard Edition" from SAP Discovery Center changes based on the Commercial Model. I have seentest_demo_edition
for Partner TDD andenterprise_agreement
.Edge Integration Cell requiring the additional service plan
edge_integration_cell
next to the service plan for the Standard Edition makes it even more difficult to understand, which entitlements are required for which scenario.Maybe it makes sense to have a separate page describing the services and their service plans and explaining which entitlements are required for wich scenario and not just the onboarding for the IS Application.
