# Advanced Event Mesh Adapter

The Advanced Event Mesh \(AEM\) adapter enables SAP Integration Suite to connect to the Advanced Event Mesh via the SMF protocol.Use the AEM Sender adapter to receive messages from AEM. Use the AEM Receiver adapter to send messages to AEM.

> Only SMF allowed headers are forwarded on the Sender and Receiver. To store any custom headers on the Receiver, use the UserProperties header.
