Quotes for new plate reader #2072
Comments
Contacted 4-5 companies to ask for quotes. Gathering quotes. I also requested quotes for used/ refurbished equipment. We are able to use MERLAB instrument for our needs. I am obtaining a quote to purchase necessary filters. |
Waiting for quote from Agilent and Molecular Devices. Once I obtain these last quotes I'll assemble information and we can move forward with purchasing. |
Here are the results of my search and obtaining quotes from all companies I contacted. My take home is the following: I recommend that we go with Agilent Synergy HTX. This instrument has all the capabilities we need, it will use the filters we already have in the lab, and is by far the cheapest under a special promotional discount. The alternative option would be the Victor Nivo 3. This instrument is operating system independent, which is a big advantage. But, I don't think it is worth the ~$14K difference in price from the Agilent Synergy. Full comparison here:
I have PDFs of quotes ready. @sr320 how would you like to proceed? |
Lets go ahead order agilent through treq- is PC included? |
PC computer is not included - if we purchase through them it is far more expensive than if we purchase one on our own. The rep said most folks run off of a PC laptop. |
Should I attach quotes here or send in Slack? |
Just move forward in Treq - upload quote there. |

Pending budget approval on Treq as of 2/20/2025 |
