Why doesn't [TOC] work? #4
Comments
@lhaycock. You figured this out? Can you share it here? |
@joewheaton Sorry I had not seen this comment before. I noticed [TOC] was not working in a couple places yesterday and found another forum that other people had complained about [TOC] not working with github. I have not found a solution yet. Was hoping @MattReimer would have some ideas. |
No problem.... I just misunderstood and thought you found a solution
yesterday.

@lhaycock and @joewheaton I have implemented an automated table of contents (ToC) on the BRAT wiki. Please review and provide feedback. Note that to get the ToC to work, I also implemented a new style, fonts and framework (Foundation) that we use on our own sites. This is just a starting point... I expect that you will want to play with the CSS and customize this to your own taste. Note that copies of the files that make the ToC work and also the CSS are needed in each wiki! Therefore I strongly recommend that you perform your tweaks and changes as thoroughly as possible on one site before then copying the files to all other wikis. If you don't keep track of this you could end up chasing your tail trying to figure out which site has the latest CSS etc. I am documenting how this ToC and CSS works on the main Riverscapes wiki. |
@MattReimer, Any ideas how we can get the [TOC] mark down to work to make a table of contents in GitHub hosted pages? I came across this hack, and this thread. We have one on our index... we'll use these a lot.
