Use 1000 simulations to obtain the following information: a. Is Good Sleep – Hotel Services a successful business? b. What is the probability that the business will make a $4.1M profit? c. What is the probability that the business will not make a $4.1M profit? 2. Calculate the simulation alpha for the 1000 simulations. Price Optimization: Scenario- You work for Flying Nimbus, a cloud storage company. Your company currently offers a 1TB cloud storage option to non-business customers at a rate of $15 per month. The company is planning to change the rate to $20 per month starting next month. However, management is considering raising the rate even higher, to as much as $30 per month. But before doing that they want to find out the best price for the service. Simplex LP: Scenario - A cake company called Cake Yummy is in the business of delivering outstanding new flavours. They approached you as a business advisor to find out how can they increase their profit without increasing their inventory. Each new cake is a combination of two or more flavours as follows: • Strawberry Mango = Strawberry (5 kg) + Mango (2 kg) • Chocolate Cinnamon Vanilla = Chocolate (6 kg) + Cinnamon (2 kg) + Vanilla (3 kg) • Pure Mango Banana = Mango (6 kg) + Banana (3 kg) • Strawberry Twist = Strawberry (6 kg) The company has only the following inventory: • Strawberry: 60 kg • Mango: 80 kg • Chocolate: 95 kg • Cinnamon: 56 kg • Vanilla: 96 kg • Banana: 100 kg Questions - 1. How many of each type of cake can be made without exceeding inventory? 2. How can the unit profit for each type of cake be increased? 3. As a business advisor, provide the owners with a business rule that will increase profit. 4. Define the terms used inventory and available inventory. Text Analytics: Scenario- Travel Dreams is a family-oriented business that is concerned about reviews, good and bad, that it received in the past 6 months. It would like to know how the customers feel about their experiences and to analyze customer reviews in order to fix the problems and make the customer experience better. Bolts Forecasting: Scenario - Bolts & Nuts Inc. is worried that their storage facilities will run out of space in a given month. They have been keeping track of the amount of boxes they have to store at the end of a month. They want to have an idea of whether or not they will need more storage space for the next 2 months. Exponential Smoothing: Scenario - Fundraising Co. is attempting to forecast the amount of money they can expect to earn next year. However, they want to smooth out their data and need to account for seasonal shifts. Use Alpha 0.1 , 0.5 , 0.8 and chart the exponential smoothing. Base a recommendation on those charts. K-Nearest Neighbors: Scenario - A used car dealership wants to offer customers more accurate car options when they approach a salesperson. The dealership believes they can improve the odds of making a sale by showing a customer cars with similar characteristics to the one car they may be interested in. Using K = 4 - Suggestions in Excel sheet Basket Analysis: Scenario - A local community market wants to increase revenue by offering customers a special on combinations of popular items. The market owners want to use predictive customer behaviour to understand what items customers are buying at the same time so they can decide what combinations they should offer.
