There are lots of applications where the ability to "reshape" data is a disadvantage and it's preferable to restrict queries to filter (where) clauses. E.g. you might want to just allow the user to filter rows in a table by some more flexible criteria than predefined drop-downs.

See branch filterrestriction. Probably the best way to do this is to check for "restricted" operators in the parse tree.
