Branch lines can obscure text when modifying/joining nodes

First this is a great product. There seems to be an issue redrawing the lines when the outlay of a child node is modified, or when it is added back to the root node (after being a freenode). The branch lines are drawn through the cells and sometimes can obscure the text. The nodes also don't seem to inherit the layouts of the new parent nodes. Is there a setting or option that makes this possible?

You can modify the layout manually

Thank you for the response. I didn't think to try the trash can! It works fine.
Is there is s way to do multiple branches at once?
