Acknowledgments

This project has been initially developed within the course "Sonic Thinking - Methods of Working with Sound" and extended and evaluated within the course "Neurodesign Lecture - Designing for Empathy in Business Contexts" at the neurodesign group @ HPI.

In particular, thanks go out to the following people:

  • Julia von Thienen (JuliavonThienen @ HPI Neurodesign Group): guidance during the project process, contributions to user study design, statistical evaluation of user study
  • Patrick Rein (codeZeilen @ hpi-swa): experiences with approaches for source code instrumentation in Squeak/Smalltalk; implementation particularities of Babylonian/S programming system and some fixes of reported bugs; advises regarding user study design; feedback on prototype and user study design
  • Tom Beckmann (tom95 @ hpi-swa): introduction into and guidance through Sandblocks, implementation particularities, and many fixes of reported bugs; feedback on prototype and user study design
  • Irene-Sophia Plank (IreneSophia @ HPI Neurodesign Group): contributions to user study design
  • Marcel Taeumel (marceltaeumel @ hpi-swa): feedback on early prototype and user study design
  • Robert Hirschfeld @ hpi-swa: guidance during the project process
  • Members of the Squeak development community (squeak-dev mailing list): implementation particularities of the Sound package for Squeak (especially Herbert König, Stéphane Rollandin, Tim Rowledge, and Marcel Taeumel)
