Temperature when opening the window #1481
Comments
Good idea actually, the TRV does not need to shut down the valve completely if the outside temperature difference is e.g. < 5°C. This saves battery. |
That sounds like a different feature than OP. I think if the difference is that small, you probably would have your TRV anyway disabled at that point, because of the high temperature (which can be enabled in BT). Plus if you do it like you described, then you maybe wanna override this again if it's open for too long, and it'd be yet an other parameter - In my view it's too complicated for saving just a few valve cycles at best every year.
Sure it's possible, but... Why? I'd understand maybe making a checkbox, to not disable the TRV and set it to the minimum temperature (or +5°C) for frost protection instead (if the TRV doesn't already do this on it's own), but what's the reason for setting it to something like 30°? |
Fresh air from the street + heat from the radiator. |
Yeah uhm, I think 99.9% of ppl want exactly the opposite, to not waste energy and money, so I don't think this feature is gonna make it. You'll be better off with your own automation to set the temperature as you want, while the window is open, and just remove the window sensor in BT. The flag for not turning it off - You both can make a binary template sensor, which groups your window states and adds whatever condition you want, and use that as a window sensor in BT, if you rly feel this kind of feature is needed for you. How about that? |
What is the feature?
Description
Is it possible to make a function: set the temperature (let's say 30 degrees) when opening the window?
