upcomming zigbee2mqtt 2.0.0. Update - any effect for better_thermostat expected?

hi,

i use on a raspi4
homeassitant Core 2024.12.5
BetterThermostat 1.6.1
BetterThermostat UI 2.2.1
Zigbee2MQTT 1.42.0-2
Mosquitto broker 6.4.1

i´m not a developer and don´t understand the corelations between those software packages!

there will be many breaking changes in zigbe2mqtt update 2.0.0, i wonder if it will have any effect on a BetterThermostat integration or BetterThermostatUI in homeassistant?

as i do have many Aqara SRTS-A01 in use with BetterThermostat: is it save to update zigbe2mqtt, or should i wait for an BT update?

Currently i testing BT 1.7.0 Beta 2 with ha 2025.1 and z2m 2.0

Do you use any window sensors? There's a breaking change concerning triggers, but I've checked my window sensors, they don't have any sensor.***_action, so that should be fine. Except triggers (the main issue reported by those who upgraded their system to zigbee2mqtt 2.0), I don't see any reason Z2M 2 would break anything in BT

I use aqara/Xiaomi window and Temperatur sensors

All works fine with z2m 2.0 and bt 1.7.0 Beta 2 and HA 2025.1 so far.

Indeed i have Problems with my Philipps hue dimmer switches because of the event stuff (need the rewrite my Automation Blueprint) But the Temperatur and Windows Sensors works fine with BT without any modification

As reported in #1529, there seems to be an issue with Z2M 2.0 itself (entities being unavailable) for some users, but this is not a fault of BT. Just from BT compatibility point of view, everything should be "good", as in there are no known issues still. Any (especially major) update is a risk of breaking things though, so if you don't have time for fixing stuff / switching back to the old version worst case, it's generally advisable to wait with any kind of (major) update...
