I recently worked on an app, Seatfrog, that had been rated between 1 and 2 stars for months, despite no major issues. The solution? In-app rating prompts!

Regarding the outdated google search result, maybe try their tool for removing outdated content? In the doc mentioned in the above link, they say this should be used for pages that have significantly changed so not sure if the rating change counts according to them, but worth giving a try.

Nice idea, thanks! I often do that with Google Search Console, didn't know you could do it for pages you don't own. It required entering a term that appears on the snippet but not the page so I put the rating in 😅 I'll let you know how it goes & update the article if it works.

Ah ok. I've only managed to use this successfully to remove search results of deleted pages.
