  • How do we handle/ what is the reason behind the shift of the Alexandrian kingdom column shift (94) and labeling the Alexandrian kingdom column in regnal format instead of the traditional filum (100r)?

  • What is the significance of illustrations next to certain passages (100v)(103r)?

  • What is the significance when text is written in different colors (primarily red) as compared to the rest of the column (115v, 114v, 114r, 113r, 111r, 107v, 80v)?

  • What is the scribe referring to when he comments about his own copy of text?

  • How often/in what instances does the scribe speak in first person (90r, 101v, 114r, 119r, 120r)?

  • Why does Christ appear frequently in the Roman column for performing miracles and such, but he and John the Baptist appear in the Judean column? Which column did Jerome intend for his birth to be under? (105v-107r)

  • What instances does the scribe refer to other writers/scholars of history? ex. Virgil mentions C. Assinius Gallus (106v), Josephus and Phlegon discuss events of death of Christ (107r), Josephus writes of killing in Judea (109v), Irenaeus discusses persecution of Christians (110v), death of Traianus written of somewhere else (111v)

  • What is the significance behind two identical lines of text in two different cells? (Justinus in 112v) (Aeschylus in 87r, 87v) (Samo in 16_4, 28_1)

  • Why does the scribe stop marking the succession of bishops with a regnal symbol? (114v)

  • Does Jerome's material concerning Homeric subject matter reference any scholars also discussed in the Homer Multitext groups' work?

  • How was this manuscript composed? The existence of faint marks seems to suggest a second scribe or at the very least a second pass.

  • What do the alternate readings (introduced by al') tells us about the source material for the composition of the manuscript? - Instances of al' in Gen49: - 44_4 on 79v-80r (corresponds to CodVad 45_1 on 50v-51r) - 55_r1 on 82v (corresponds to CodVad 58_1 on 52v) - 65_1 on 86r (corresponds to Codvad 65_1 on 53v) - 77_4 on 87v (corresponds to Codvad 78 on 55r) - 83_1 on 88r (corresponds to Codvad 83 on 55v) - 153_2 on 98r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 154_4 on 98r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 158_2 on 99r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 158_3 on 99r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 162_1 on 99v (corresponds to Codvad on) - 177_1 on 102r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 178_1 on 102r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 194_4 on 106r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 204_1 on 107v (corresponds to Codvad on) - 218_1_r1 on 110v (corresponds to Codvad on) - 220_1 on 111r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 227_2 (x2) on 112r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 228_1 on 112r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 228_2 on 112r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 236_1 on 113r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 244_2 on 114v (corresponds to Codvad on) - 265_1 on 117v (corresponds to Codvad on) - 271_2 on 118r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 273_2 on 118v (corresponds to Codvad on) - 273_3 on 118v (corresponds to Codvad on) - 276_1 on 119r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 281_2 on 120r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 284_3 (x2) 120v on (corresponds to Codvad on) - 285_1 on 121r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 285_2 on 121r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 285_4 on 121r (corresponds to Codvad on) - 286_13 on 122r (corresponds to Codvad on)
