It seems to me that an indicator (e.g., a red dot) on the icons of the web panels would be a very useful thing. Especially if we pin instant messengers such as WhatsApp, Messenger or Slack to the side panel.
This indicator would show if we have received any notification. I think it can be displayed by reading the title of the web page that is in the web panel. A page that contains a notification very often has something like this in the page title: "(1) Messenger".
