Some Advice for the Students

My dear students, your this trimester is almost at the end. I hope you have learned a lot of things from this course. I have tried my best to make the course interesting and informative. I hope you have enjoyed the course. I have some advice for you. Please read them carefully.

1. Try to become the best version of you everyday.
2. Don't compare yourself with others. Compare yourself with the person you were yesterday. You are different from others. You have your own strengths and weaknesses. Try to improve yourself everyday.
3. Don't run after the grades. Run after the knowledge. If you run after the knowledge, the grades will run after you.
4. In Computer Science and Engineering, you have to learn a lot of things. Among everything else, the most important and valuable thing is to find answer/solution to any problem using the internet. So, try to improve your searching skills. Along with that, you need to know how to use AI and ML tools to solve problems ethically.
5. You saw that I am highly strict against AI use in the exams. I am not against AI. I am against unethical use of AI. So, try to use AI ethically. In the last class, I also showed you how to use AI to solve problems ethically. So, try to use AI ethically. Some mentionable ways to use AI ethically are:
   • Use AI to find the solution to a problem. But, don't use AI to find the solution to the problem that you are supposed to solve by yourself. Don't use AI in the exams or as a method of cheating.
   • When you are using AI to solve a problem, try to understand the solution provided by the AI. Don't just copy-paste the solution provided by the AI. If you don't understand the solution provided by the AI, you will not be able to explain the solution to others. If you can't explain the solution to others, you will not be able to use the solution in real life.
   • Try to use AI to solve real life problems. Don't use AI to solve the problems that are not important. Use AI to solve the problems that are important and that will make a difference in the world.
   • Let's say, you are using AI to solve a problem. You have found a solution to the problem using AI. Now, try to find a solution to the problem without using AI. If you can find a solution to the problem without using AI, then you will be able to understand the solution provided by the AI. If you can understand the solution provided by the AI, you will be able to use the solution in real life.
   • You have some sample questions and you have solved them. Now you can simply give your earlier questions to the AI and tell it to provide you with some similar or related questions. Then, you can solve those questions. This way, you will be able to learn more and more. You can check your answer using the AI. You can use AI to find corner cases or the faults in your code. This way, you will be able to improve your code. This is ethical use of AI. But keep in mind that what the AI is telling you, is not 100% perfect always. So, you have to use your own brain to check the answer provided by the AI using Internet or other medium.
   • Let's say, you have several solutions to a problem and you want to know which one is the best. You can use AI to find the best solution. This is ethical use of AI. But keep in mind that what the AI is telling you, is not 100% perfect always. So, you have to use your own brain to check the answer provided by the AI using Internet or other medium. You can also provide your solutions to AI, and find out some scope of improvement in your solution. This way, you will be able to improve your solution.
6. There is no absolute path to success. You have to find your own path to success. You have to find your own way to success. You have to find your own strategy to success. You have to find your own expertise and favorite spots.
7. Live becomes outside the comfort zone. So, try to get out of your comfort zone. Try to do the things that you are afraid of. Try to do the things that you have never done before. Try to do the things that you have never thought of doing before. This way, you will be able to learn new things. This way, you will be able to improve yourself.
8. Try to learn new things everyday. Try to learn new things from the internet. Try to learn new things from the books. Try to learn new things from the people around you.
9. There is not any single parameter to judge a good student. A good student is not only the one who gets good grades. A good student is the one who is curious. A good student is the one who is eager to learn new things. A good student is the one who is eager to solve problems. A good student is the one who is eager to help others. A good student is the one who is eager to make a difference in the world. A good student is the one who is eager to make the world a better place to live in. However, the most important thing is to become a good person, from heart and soul. You can become a good student (by the distinction of grades) by studying hard. But, you can become a good person by doing good things. So, try to become a good person.
10. Your university life is the major timespan of your growth. Use it wisely. Do funny things (without hurting others), do crazy things (without hurting yourself), do stupid things (without hurting the society), do adventurous things (without hurting the environment), do creative things (without hurting the creativity), do innovative things (without hurting the innovation), do ethical things (without hurting the ethics), do moral things (without hurting the morality), do good things (without hurting the goodness), do great things (without hurting the greatness), do legendary things (without hurting the legendary). This way, you will be able to make your university life memorable.
11. Try to gain skills in this university life as much as possible. After your graduation, you will not get the time to do the things that you can do in your university life. So, try to gain as much skills as possible in your university life.
12. As a CSE student, Competitive Programming (CP) is not a must for you, but a good thing to have. But, problem solving, Data Structure and Algorithms, logical thinking, analytical knowledge - are must needed for you.
13. Create your own brand. You are special. Let others know about your specialty by your efforts and branding.
14. Maintain a good email etiquette. You will need it in your professional life.
15. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. You will need it in your professional life.
16. Try to be a good team player. You will need it in your professional life.
17. Maintain good social connections. You will need it in your professional life. Have a good LinkedIn profile. You also need a good GitHub profile as a developer. You need a good Kaggle, HuggingFace profile as a data scientist. You need a good Dribble, Behance profile as a designer. You need a good YouTube, Twitch profile as a content creator. You need a good Instagram, Facebook profile as a social media influencer. You need a good Twitter profile as a thought leader. You need a good Pinterest profile as a visual creator. You need a good Spotify, SoundCloud profile as a music creator. You need a good Amazon, eBay profile as a seller. You need a good Upwork, Fiverr profile as a freelancer. You need a good Coursera, Udemy profile as a course creator. You need a good Medium, Substack profile as a writer.
18. Respect others and respect others' privacy. Don't hurt others by damaging their privacy.
19. Don't troll others. Don't bully others. Don't harass others. Don't abuse others. Don't spread hate. Don't spread fake news. Don't spread misinformation. Don't spread malinformation. Don't spread propaganda. Don't spread conspiracy theories. Don't spread hoaxes. Don't spread scams. Don't spread frauds. Don't spread rumors. Don't spread discrimination. Don't spread racism.
20. Don't be a part of any unethical activities or any illegal activities.
21. Never take any critical damaging decision in your life when you are in an emotional state. Always take critical decisions in your life when you are in a rational state.
