Where to get released packages?

Very simple, as stated on dar homepage ( http://dar.linux.free.fr/ ) you can find release packages at either sourceforge https://sourceforge.net/projects/dar/files/ or at the slow/low bandwidth FTP server ftp://ftp.edrusb.org/dar.linux.free.fr/Releases/
you can also get release using GIT and tags vx.y.z for release x.y.z for example "git checkout -r v2.6.4"
... migration completed. Both GIT repositories are now active, documentation inside dar/libdar is up to date :)
