OK, thanks. I assume you have tested it before. This was an upgrade with potential to break the whole service.

Do you have a plan on how to assign the new PIDs also to existing records? Do we just assign them, display them in GUI, and keep the old PIDs as they are, just don’t display them any more?

Hi,

I've checked in test-enviroment and the old pids still work correctly, even when the configuration is changed. Old PIDs are still showing on the page, and those links are working, and all the new records are assigned new PIDS. So unless there is some other need to change the old PIDs to new ones, I would vote to let the old PIDs stay as they are and continue assigning new PIDs to new deposits.

The old PIDs should stay, but we should also assign new PIDs to those old records. New PIDs will then be shown on the web pages. It is good for consistency: all our records will have our PIDs. Some may also have other PIDs, but we will not need to rely on that service, keep checking it is running, etc.
