Cant add more than 8 digits of emeralds, however save file has 10 digits

this dosent make sense, my save file has 1b emeralds, however the save editor allows for a max of 100 million? and when i try to set my
emeralds in the 1b save file, you cant add any extra. there shouldnt be the 100 million emeralds limitation when i can get 1b via cheat engine back in the day
